Mr Syed works as a Consultant in Orthopaedics and Musculo-Skeletal Trauma at Forth Valley Royal Hospital NHS Trust. His medical and orthopaedic specialist training spans a wide area of the United Kingdom.
After completing his primary medical qualification from AP University of Health Sciences in India, Mr Syed completed his basic surgical training in the West Midlands leading to his Membership Qualification from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Thereafter most of his Orthopaedic training was in hospitals in the West of Scotland and South of England leading to his Fellowship Qualification.
He completed the Furlong Fellowship in lower limb arthroplasty (Hip and Knee Joint Replacement surgery) at Western Sussex Hospitals NHS trust prior to being appointed as a Locum Consultant at East Kent Hospitals NHS Trust.
He is now settled as a substantive consultant at Forth Valley Royal Hospital and is a recognised trainer by the General Medical Council for doctors.
Mr Syed has been actively involved in contribution to orthopaedic text-books and research and has widely published in renowned international journals.
His major interest lies in lower limb arthroplasty and trauma. This includes treatment of hip and knee osteoarthritis. He has a wide experience in performing hip and knee replacement surgery. Mr Syed uses both cemented and uncemented total hip replacements in his practice. He also has a vast amount of experience in performing keyhole knee procedures (arthroscopic knee surgery) for varied knee pathology.
